I own a business which allows consumers to make monthly payments on my product and service. How do I report good or bad marks for or against my consumers?

Thanks

Just got notice from my insurance company (auto only) that they are going to be ordering insurance loss history reports and motor vehicle reports. They will help determine our eligibility for insurance and the price we may be charged.

All well and good. But here’s the kicker, the part I don’t get. They also say that they may order additional consumer reports that include our credit info. They may use a credit-based insurance score based on that info. And they may use a 3rd party to develop our credit-based insurance score.

Is this normal? Do many companies do this? Is this something that anyone else is outraged about, and is anyone fighting this?

I don’t have much cause for concern really, but I don’t get what one thing has to do with the other. You could explain that to me too!

If it matters, this is American Family Insurance.

Does State Farm do this?
I’m in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

For making money off any information contained in a report, even if they didn’t seek my permission? It seems to me that the govenment allows the big 3 to collect info w/out permission so that banks and other financial institutions to make money without regaurd to the consumer. The laws for consumers (Fair Credit Reporting Act) appear to be a smoke screen for a hidden agenda. I say consumers should call them on it. Anyone for a class action?
I see fraud by a company making $ on false Information (sometimes) and in order to fix something in a credit report, you have to jump through hoops and, if your lucky, you won’t have to ask the big 3; 4 or 5 times to correct an issue. (Especially TransUnion.) I have spent $55.00+ on postage to dispute crap that should not be on there anyway. Conspiracy amoungst the Finance world.

I read you can freeze all 3 credit reports with a single phone call. Is this true and what is the advantage of freezing?
