I have 2 charge offs on my credit report. They have been paid, but they are there. How will this affect me finding a job? I am particularly interested if you work in human resources.

They are looking to see how responisble you are. If you are trust wrothly, such as you won’t steall funds, or embezzle to pay off you debt.

None of the companies that I worked closely with HR ever checked credit reports unless the job was working with cash. Then they wanted to see that the person was responsible in paying bills and not deeply in debt. The theory was that the people who didn’t meet those standards were more likely to embezzle to pay off their late or large debt. It didn’t rule them out of a job, but it did put a strike against them.
