If employers will not hire because of my credit history, are there ways to avoid consumer reports?

Hi, you are in a tough situation. Most employers now do background checks which may include a credit check. In the financial services industry this is a given. Your best bet is to look at smaller companies which may not do a background check then repair your credit score.
